  • Libby I have only just read your story and I suppose the wedding has already taken place. I do hope you went and enjoyed it without the strain, anxiety, dread, and the myriad of feelings we experience from our alcoholic partners' behaviour, especially in public.
It is well past time for you to be living a life with joy, and hope and control over your emotions. By that I mean you can choose what feelings you want to have at any point whether at a public event or at home.

I have been a member of Al Anon for 33 yrs and it saved my life. Certainly my sanity.
Please look at Al Anon on line and find a phone number contact in your area.
There has to be a better way to live for you, just as there was for me.
Post a message and I will be here to help you

  • If you're worried that your husband is going to embarrass you at the family wedding then by all means leave him at home. Live your own life Libby, don't be a victim to his problems.
